The use of copper in medicine dates back to 2600 BCE in Egypt, where it was used for sterilizing chest wounds and drinking water. Its use declined after the discovery of antibiotics in 1932. However, due to the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in medical facilities, copper's antimicrobial properties are being researched again. This renewed interest aims to leverage copper's broad-spectrum antibacterial effects, including preventing Legionnaires' disease.
SuperCu, developed by Green Source International Co., Ltd. and National Taipei University of Technology, is a multi-functional product featuring highly stable copper ions with antibacterial, deodorizing, anti-mold, and mite-repellent properties.
